For many years, Amos has been one of Houma’s most respected guitar instructors, helping shape the musical journeys of countless local musicians. In fact, many of the parents bringing their children to lessons today first learned guitar from Amos themselves.
Alongside teaching, Amos is also the lead guitarist for the local rock band Rockzilla, bringing decades of real performance experience to his students.
We’re excited to have him join our team, where he’ll be offering guitar lessons for students of all ages and experience levels.
Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to take your playing to the next level, Amos brings the knowledge, patience, and passion that have made him a cornerstone of Houma’s music community.

Our January–February Cournoyer Center newsletter just dropped, and this one’s all about music, momentum, and the people who make it happen.

The countdown begins! Our Slay Ride 2025: A Toys for Tots Concert benefit is tomorrow night! Our students and staff have been working hard to prepare Christmas songs with a twist to get you in the holiday spirit. Bring a packaged toy or $15 for entry, and rest assured that all proceeds go to Toys for Tots! Let's make this night unforgettable, share with others and pack the Houma Municipal Auditorium at 6 PM!

BRING A BUDDY for only $30 each!!!
Our bring a buddy program is 2 for the price of 1 for our Christmas Chorus Program directed by Isabella Siddon!
In this program, you will be singing onstage with a live band. We will be learning backup vocals, and there will even be opportunities for solos in our concert!
Learn vocal technique through Christmas music, with the goal of performance. Learn how to sing in a group and improve your vocal skills and technique. Study your favorite Christmas songs with a fun and exciting twist!
Rehearsals will take place at the Cournoyer Center for Music Performance on:
November 29th and December 13th and 15th. (3-5pm on the Saturdays and 4-6pm on Monday the 15th.)
Performance: 7PM on December 16th at the Houma Municipal Auditorium as part of our student Christmas Program.
