My story.. he may be 21 now but when it all started we were told he would never be able to do a lot of things. For one he could not talk, he had his own language due to hearing problems and ear infections. We put him in any and every therapy we were told to, tested for all kinds of syndromes. His diagnosis never seem to fit right. But I never stopped helping and him teaching him to adjust him to “normal” life. I have researched and question, read so many books. Meeting with  counselors and therapist. We have watched our son grow and come so far. He is his own normal and the world has to except that. Through the years we have surrounded ourselves with loving and caring people and found a community with equals and children and adults like him. He loves to make friends and wants to be a friend to everyone. For all the “he will never due” we were told, today he has held a job since he was 16, he has graduated with a home study diploma, works at a collage, he drives and does more than we ever thought and was told. Tonight he sits besides me as a big brother cutting up watermelon for his little sister and her band peeps! Never say never, the fight is never over, they all need structure, consistency, and rules. They will never stop learning and never stop growing. Keep your head up and never give up you will see changes and progress in time. 😍🧩🍉

We would love to say thank you to the Military Museum in Houma for hosting 2 of our classes on Thursday, April 23, 2026. We were honored to have a personal tour guide, Mrs Linda. She was amazing and understood the kids we had with us. She took time to explain all the amazing things they have in the museum and what the men and women who serve our country go through for the kids to comprehend. They will talk about it for weeks and they can’t wait to go back.

To all the families who have donated a family members military service memorabilia or maybe you donated your own, Thank You. Without your donation, our youth would not be able to learn what it took for them to have the life they have today. The kids seeing it in person makes it real and they can comprehend it better than reading it on a piece of paper in a classroom.

It was a very humbling experience and we thank you for service to our country and your protection and for our freedom you sacrificed for.
