Congratulations, Laura! This recognition is so well deserved. We’ve been fortunate at Carleton Project to see Laura’s dedication firsthand through her work with Crossing Hearts. We’re also grateful to Machias Savings Bank for their continued support of our students, including bringing financial literacy education right into our school. Congratulations, Laura, and thank you for all you do for our community!

Carleton Project is once again proud to host the beautiful Bridge to Hope raffle quilt in our downtown window!

This year’s quilt, “Our Shining Stars,” was created in honor and memory of those who have lost their battle. Pictures truly do not do this beautiful quilt justice, so if you’re downtown, stop by Carleton Project and take a look at it in person.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, and PayPal is available this year. Reach out to Bridge to Hope for tickets.

The 2026 Bridge to Hope Walk will be held October 17 at Riverfront Park. Registration begins at 9:00 AM, followed by a short program at 10:00 AM and then the walk.

We are honored to provide a place for this special quilt to be displayed and hope everyone will stop by to see it and support Bridge to Hope. ❤️

This school year is off to a wonderful start at Carleton Project. Our students are showing up, engaging, learning, and genuinely happy to be here.

Without Carleton Project, many of these young people would not be attending school at all. There are also more students in our community who have reached out because they want the same opportunity.

Every student deserves a place where they feel accepted, supported, and capable of succeeding. That is what Carleton Project provides, and we are so grateful to everyone who believes in our students and helps make this work possible. ❤️

This photo is more than a graduation picture. ❤️

It represents exactly why Carleton Project exists.

Not every student needs a different kind of education. But some students absolutely do.

Some need fewer people in the room. Some need someone to notice when they stop showing up. Some simply need someone to keep believing in them until they can believe in themselves.

Success here doesn’t always look like straight A’s. Sometimes it’s walking through the door when that feels hard. Sometimes it’s finishing something you thought you couldn’t.

And sometimes it’s putting on a graduation cap and realizing, “I did it.”

Years have passed since this photo was taken, but the reason we do this work hasn’t changed.

There are kids worth showing up for. Every single time. ❤️

🎒📚 Guess whose school starts TOMORROW?! 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

After a long summer, Carleton Project is ready to kick off a brand-new school year! New beginnings, new goals, fresh starts, and plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and maybe even have a little fun along the way. 😉

We’re excited to welcome everyone back and see what this year has in store.

We have some exciting things happening at Carleton Project this year! 📚✏️📝

We’re bringing more of our community into the classroom, giving students opportunities to learn real life and workforce skills, and incorporating Wabanaki language and Native culture into their learning.

We have some great things planned and can’t wait to share them with you!
