Congrats to the following GRIT Students of the Month for September:
9th grade - Josie Roth
Josie has been an all-star in several of her classes this year. She brings insightful analysis to class discussions and uses appropriate academic language when doing so–this is VERY impressive for a freshman. Also, her first few pieces of writing have been phenomenal.
10th grade - Addy Kangas
Addy always does the right thing. Though she can be quiet in the classroom, she’s always listening, is an extremely hard worker taking on challenging situations, and produces great work. She’s kind and helpful to others and is a real team player. She takes criticism in the spirit it’s meant, and I’ve seen her grow as a writer already this year!
11th grade - Matthew Bennett
Matthew planned and organized the green out soccer game for the senior class. He consistently works hard and is there for his peers. He is a great student!!
Matthew consistently demonstrates character and maturity. He is willing to make mistakes and the humanity and humility he brings to class is appreciated.
12th grade - Jackie Bugielski
Jackie exhibits GRIT behavior at Houghton High. She frequently volunteers for extras in her classes. He also has a positive attitude that brightens the classroom.
