Houghton Varsity football traveled to Calumet to take on the Copper Kings for the first of 2 matchups for the season.

The Gremlins played tough in the first half with some with big defensive stops, keeping Calumet out of end zone.

The second half continued with the Gremlins playing tough defense, and after a a couple unfortunate touchdowns by the Copper Kings, the Gremlins offense came alive with Brody
Donnelly connecting with Alex Hebert for a big gain, getting the Gremlins near the goal.

Taking advantage of the big play, Brody found his tallest receiver Terry Nolan, in the back of the end zone coming down with a dazzling play.

Then the Gremlins were able to miraculously recover the onside kick to give us a shot to tie the game!

Unfortunately, Calumet proved too much for coach Eli’s first game as the new Varsity coach and the mighty Gremlins fell 7-14 in an exciting and fun opener to the season.

The Gremlins JV and Varsity Volleyball teams travelled to Gwinn to take on the Modeltowners. Both teams were victorious!!!
JV 25-10, 25-12
Varsity 25-14, 25-8, 25-19

Varsity volleyball headed to Kingsford today for a tournament. The girls won their pool, then beat Norway, and lost to Hancock in 3 sets in close games. This team is fun to watch!

The Houghton Gremlins soccer team kicked off their season on Saturday hosting Lakewood High School and Bayside Escanaba. Varsity came out with two big wins (4-0 against Lakewood and 6-1 against Bayside) and JV tied Lakewood JV 1-1. It was a great day on the pitch!

🥈 SILVER DIVISION CHAMPIONS! 🏆

🏐🧡🖤Our Houghton girls absolutely crushed it at the MTU Summer Showdown! With most of the squad out of town, this "staycation" crew stepped up huge to take home 1st place in the Silver Division with a killer 3-1 record!

Meghan Trewhella has been selected to play in the USA Division III Women's Basketball Brazil Tour for the Red squad.

The Tour, hosted by USA Sports Tours & Events, will take place from August 4-13 in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo consisting of four games!

The softball team headed to Kingsford today for Districts. Unfortunately, things didn’t go our way and the team lost to Escanaba.
