Last week, our TRIO and GEAR UP seniors celebrated big in Milwaukee, WI as they recognized all the hard work that brought them to this moment!
Students explored future career paths, experienced a new city, and took time to reflect on everything they’ve accomplished throughout high school. This trip was all about celebrating their journey and the bright futures ahead.
We are so proud of each and every one of these students and can’t wait to see what they do next. Keep shining—you’ve earned it!

Last week, we returned to LIFT Detroit with our Unboxed challenges—and wow, did these students bring their A-game!

From creative problem-solving to collaboration under pressure, these hands-on challenges put their communication, resilience, and teamwork to the test—and they rose to it.

By tackling real-world problems together, they didn’t just learn STEM—they lived it. And that’s the kind of learning that sticks.

Over 600 curious students. Dozens of hands-on STEM demonstrations. One incredible community—there was no better way to kick off another year of Trekking than at the OneUP Superior Shores Festival in Marquette, MI last week!

A huge thank you to our partners Upper Peninsula Michigan Works, Northern Michigan University, and the MiSTEM Network, as well as the dozens of community exhibitors and volunteers who made this event possible. Your energy and enthusiasm helped inspire the next generation of innovators. 💛

In celebration of National GEAR UP Week, we're proud to announce that teachers at five Western U.P. schools—Hancock, Baraga, Dollar Bay, Jeffers, and Lake Linden-Hubbell High Schools—have been selected to receive new classroom resources to enhance teaching and expand student learning opportunities!

From an indoor hydroponics gardening system that expands hands-on STEM curriculum, to historical building block sets that will bring history to life, we know that having access to high-quality supplies and materials is critical to keeping learning fun and relevant. We're thrilled to provide this opportunity for our teachers to create innovative in-classroom experiences.

Educators were selected following a proposal process open to all Copper Country Intermediate School District schools through the Center for Educational Outreach’s GEAR UP program, which provides programming and resources to support learning, financial literacy skills, college and career exploration, mentorship, and more. Together, we’re building brighter futures—one student, one opportunity at a time.
