MLS Senior Highlight: Sophia B.

We’re kicking off our spring semester with another senior highlight, Sophia! We’re truly going to miss Sophia’s kind personality. She’s going to make an excellent PA and we wish her all the best! 🥼💖

Hear what she had to say about her time at Michigan Tech below:

“I am taking a gap year and applying to PA school this summer. I will be moving out of the Midwest and doing a lot of travelling!

My favorite memory was joining MEDLIFE and participating in a service learning trip in Ecuador! I had so much fun meeting peers that are also interested in the medical field and getting to experience medical inequalities first hand. It helped me envision the type of work I see myself doing during my medical career.

I will miss my amazing friends and the support system that I’ve built here at Tech, but am super excited to see where everyone ends up!”

We are excited to kick off our spring semester with a pre-health blog post written by a recently graduated student, Tessa! Tessa graduated from Michigan Tech in the spring of 2022 with a degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Biochemistry.

Michigan Tech pre-med students had a great time visiting the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Upper Peninsula rural campus last week in Marquette!

MTU students had the opportunity to meet their current medical school mentors as well as get a tour of the hospital.

Today the Director of Graduate Admissions from Central Michigan University's Herbert H. & Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions is visiting our campus! He will be here to discuss CMU's Physician Assistant and Physical Therapy programs with our students.

If you are a student interested in learning more about these graduate health programs, join us in DOW 743! Physician Assistant Program information will be discussed from 4-5 PM, and Physical Therapy Program information from 5-6 PM. No RSVP is necessary!
