The Houghton Lake Interact Club was chartered in 1995. It is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Houghton Lake and is sanctioned by Houghton Lake Jr./Sr.

High School with 62 student members in grades 9-12.

Thank you to Houghton Lake Eagles Aerie #3201 for your generous donation to the Houghton Lake Jr/Sr High School Comfort Closet. Your support provided personal hygiene products, brand new socks, and backpacks for students who may need them.

Because of you, our students have access to the basics that help them feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. We truly appreciate your kindness and partnership with our school. 💚🖤🦅

We have had another successful Hygiene Collection Project this year. With these donations, students at Collin’s Elementary and the Jr/Sr High School will have access to clothes and hygiene supplies. Thank you to the businesses and donators who made this happen!

This holiday season we were very lucky to share tons of love with our community. 52 handmade cards were made and delivered to The Brook and King Nursing Center. They were a hit at sharing some holiday cheer with the residents. Thank you to everyone who took the time to make someone’s day!

Our Annual Polio Fundraiser was a success! With the help of Houghton Lake Jr/Sr High School students, we raised $55. With that money, 165 Polio vaccines will be able to help people in need. Thank you to everyone who sold and bought candy to raise money and awareness on Polio!

We had so much fun sponsoring and organizing the 2nd Annual 6th Grade Color Fun Run! Over 90 sixth-grade students and 60 Interactors participated this year. Everyone had fun, and it was a success!

Thank you all so much for the hundreds of donations our club received for the 2024 Hygiene Collection Project! We were able to distribute so many items to students in need at Collins Elementary and the High School. Shoes, winter boots, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, socks, shirts, backpacks, and so much more were donated. We are looking forward to continuing this successful project in the future!

Our HLHS Interactors just returned from their service trip to El Salvador! We had four of our own join dozens of Interact students from the region to build houses for those in need. They left on March 25 to do service in Talnique, El Salvador. They built homes for six days and returned on April 4. We also provided shoes, clothes, and other essential items to people in the area. Thank you for your support in helping us get to El Salvador and participate in service internationally.
