Langston Elementary Leadership Academy

Throughout ATLAS testing, our Langston Leaders in Kindergarten through 6th grade were recognized with a variety of incentives to celebrate their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. While there were many exciting rewards along the way, these student favorites always create the biggest smiles!

Our 3rd–6th grade students who were on time for all four days of testing were entered into a drawing for their choice of a pair of Nikes, Converse, or Vans. This year, every winner chose a pair of Nikes! Watching each student select a style that reflected their personality was such a fun and memorable experience.

Our K–2 students also had an opportunity to earn a special reward. The students with the highest Math or Literacy score in each grade level could choose between a pair of Vans or a Stanley Cup. The verdict was unanimous......every winner chose a Stanley Cup!

We are incredibly proud of all of our Langston Leaders for the perseverance, focus, and determination they demonstrated throughout testing season. Their commitment to Leadership Through Excellence continues to shine both inside and outside the classroom. Congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to every student who gave their very best effort this year!

Celebrating Excellence at LELA!

Today, we had the privilege of recognizing our outstanding 1st–5th grade students during our End-of-Year Awards Ceremony! Students were honored for their achievements in academic growth through Atlas scores, demonstrating our Capturing Kids’ Hearts character traits, and being selected as Terrific Kids.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, leadership, character, and determination our students have shown throughout the year. Their growth, both academically and personally, has been inspiring to watch.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients and to every student who worked hard to make this a successful year! We can't wait to see our Langston leaders continue to learn, lead, and grow through excellence next school year.

At Langston Elementary Leadership Academy, we are always looking for innovative ways to provide our students with exceptional learning opportunities. As part of our continued commitment to excellence, we are exploring a transition to Langston Outdoor Leadership Academy (LOLA), an innovative educational model that combines strong academics, leadership development, student wellness, and real-world outdoor learning experiences.

Our vision for LOLA is for every student to become an explorer, develop leadership through meaningful experiences, engage in outdoor learning as part of everyday instruction, and build a lifelong appreciation for Arkansas’s natural resources and communities.

Our mission is to improve student health and academic engagement while connecting learning to authentic experiences. Through hands-on opportunities, students will develop leadership skills, environmental stewardship, teamwork, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Some exciting possibilities being explored include:
~Regular outdoor learning experiences connected to classroom instruction
~Leadership development through hands-on activities and badge programs
~Partnerships with local organizations, parks, and community resources
~Increased opportunities for physical activity and real-world learning
~Outdoor-focused field trips and experiences at every grade level
~The addition of a school self-help dog, Lola, to support student wellness, social-emotional learning, and school culture

This week, we celebrate two very special milestones at Langston Elementary Leadership Academy, our Kindergarten graduates and our Sixth Grade graduates!

From first letters and numbers to leadership, confidence, and lifelong friendships, we have watched these students grow in so many incredible ways. Our Kindergarteners are ready for 1st grade, and our Sixth Graders are prepared to take the next big step toward middle school.

We are extremely proud of the growth each student has shown academically, socially, and as leaders. As they move forward, we hope they continue to lead through excellence, show kindness, work hard, and believe in all they are capable of achieving.
