❔How long does it take to complete the barber program?
✅1,500 Hours (about 10 months for full time attendance, but flexible part time hours are available)
❔How long does the Cosmetology Crossover program take?
✅550 hours. Around 4 months. You must already have a current Arkansas cosmetology license to enroll (Part time classes available)
❔What does the online course cover?
✅ The online course is the 21 chapter Milady textbook with review exams and workbook. This is what you would study in the classroom at the school. This is also what the written portion of the State Board Exam is based on. You can earn up to 750 hours through online training. The rest of your 750 hours are spent at the school for hands on training learning haircuts, straight razor shaves and other practical techniques for the State Board Exam. Doing the online course mixed with hands on learning at the same time is an option as well. You do not have to finish the online bookwork before you start learning to cut hair!
❔How much does it cost & is financial aid available?
✅YES! We offer tuition assistance, which covers the complete cost of your schooling. No payments made until 6 months after completing your program. These low interest rate student loans are offered on a co-signer basis through the Arkansas Rural Endowment Fund. You can fill out a student loan application online after discussing your tuition cost and contract details. Current barber & cosmetology crossover license programs cost range from $3,500.00 to $7,500.00 depending on several factors/options. Please call to discuss specific program/payment options.
❔ When can I start??
✅ Open enrollment available, start anytime! To begin, contact us to fill out an application through Twins Barber College for approval from the State Barber Board. ($55 application fee).
Items needed to fill out application are:
☑️ current Arkansas state ID or Drivers License
☑️ high school diploma or transcripts, or GED
☑️ social security card
& At least 16.5 years old!!
❔ Do I need my own barber supplies or haircut experience before enrolling?
✅ No! No experience or tools needed. We can provide you with an optional professional barber supply kit or we will provide you with a list of items to purchase to begin doing services once enrolled. No prior experience needed, we will teach you starting from the very basics.
