This week’s Pass the Paddle goes to Ms. West, our new music teacher!

Ms. West has jumped right in and done a fabulous job creating a music classroom our students love! Walk by her room and you might hear students singing, making music, or listening as she plays the piano or ukulele.

Her energy and love for music are already making an impact, and we are so glad she has joined our MVPA family! Congratulations, Ms. West! Thank you for sharing your talents with our students and going above and beyond!

Mrs. Mitchell's second grade students combined science and writing with a colorful fall leaf experiment! Students collected leaves, crumbled them into jars, and added rubbing alcohol and hot water. They then observed as the leaves’ hidden colors separated, revealing the pigments masked by the dominant green chlorophyll. What a fun way to explore the science of fall and incorporate their discoveries into writing!

During library this week, Mrs. Boyd is reading The Book With No Pictures by B.J. Novak with our third graders!

This hilarious story requires the reader to say all sorts of silly and crazy things, which had our students laughing along the way! After reading, students discussed the importance of illustrations in books. Then, they got creative by completing a silly sentence and designing their very own illustrated page for the book!

We love seeing our students use their imaginations and creativity in the library!

Pass the Paddle Spotlight!

This week’s Pass the Paddle goes to Mrs. Cheri Huff! Mrs. Huff has taken on a new role at MVPA this year and has jumped right in! She brings a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and high expectations for our Main Street students each and every day. She believes in our students, pushes them to do their very best, and is committed to helping them succeed!

We are so thankful for Mrs. Huff and the dedication she brings to MVPA. Thank you for stepping up, embracing a new role, and going above and beyond for our students!
