Trust in institutions—including churches—is at historic lows. The remedy is not a better system; it is returning to the pure, sufficient Word of God. Pastors and teachers are only trustworthy to the degree they faithfully handle Scripture.

A signpost declares, “This way to peace, purpose, salvation.” It feels holy, looks righteous, and promises an easier journey. You’re drawn to it, your heart stirred by its beauty. But here’s the chilling truth, church: that path leads to an abyss. One step off God’s trail, and you’re lost—not because the path looked evil, but because it looked so right.

This is the great deception in these last days: a lie cloaked in righteousness, a trap disguised as godliness, crafted by Satan to lure you from Christ.

Imagine you’re running a race, the finish line just ahead, the prize of eternal life waiting. But your backpack is stuffed with rocks—heavy, useless things slowing you down.

Every step is a struggle, every moment a choice: keep carrying the weight or drop it and run free. Church, that’s where we are in these last days.

The world is loading us with rocks—its pleasures, its priorities, its lies—and it’s keeping us from running the race God called us to.

The great deception is already at work. Jesus didn’t just list signs—He warned, “See that no one leads you astray.”

That’s not a suggestion; it’s a command. The enemy’s greatest weapon in these last days is deception, and it’s creeping into every corner of our world. False teachers twist God’s Word, saying sin isn’t sin, truth is relative, and you can follow Jesus while living like the world. Culture tells us to chase money, fame, or comfort, whispering that God’s way is outdated. Even in churches, we see the deception—preachers tickling ears instead of preaching repentance, congregations more concerned with programs than prayer.

Jesus said false christs and prophets would deceive many, even the elect if possible. Think about that—people who know God’s Word can still be swayed if they’re not vigilant. The great deception isn’t just out there; it’s knocking on our hearts, tempting us to compromise, to love the world more than we love Christ. Are you guarding your heart, or are you letting the enemy’s lies slip in?
