Duncan Creek has had a busy couple of days! To kick off our Kindness Initiative, author Stan Tucker came to visit! He read to the students in assemblies and encouraged them to show kindness and to do the right thing even when no one was watching! Each assembly had 2 lucky students who were nominated by their teachers for their acts of kindness. These students got to play "Read and Roll" for a chance to win $20! He was on the morning announcements and visited EVERY classroom!
Everyone was so excited and now we are ready to show the WORLD that 'Kindness Begins with Me'!

This year our school focus is kindness, and we are excited to share an upcoming project that embodies the spirit of kindness and community within our school. Next week we will be launching a meaningful project that brings our students together for a shared goal! The project focus will be a book drive to collect gently used books to be sold at our DCES Book Sale in October. All of the proceeds of the sale will go to support the GCPS Book Mobile summer and school year programs. Please see the flyer below with information about the first part of this project and how you can help!
Congratulations Ms. Petoskey!!

Each child got to board the bus and choose a book to take home at the end of the presentation! Look for information about a community kindness project to help the GCPS Book Mobile soon!
