Good Evening,
I wanted to touch base with you before I officially leave Center Street Elementary for good and become the Gardner Road Principal, effective July 1.
With that noted, I am just sitting in my office looking around all the artifacts I have collected throughout the years, the cards, the drawings, the special tokens all shared with me out of love from our children at CS and all of you. When I say it has been an honor to serve you all, I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart. I have never experienced to this degree the wonderful privilege of getting to know families – celebrating so many amazing events together, home visits, attending a special activity together and at times, hospital visits and unfortunately even funerals. You all have meant so much – and I will forever be grateful for the trust you extended to me while I cared for your children for the last 17 years.
Noting, this is my community and where I belong, I hope to see you at local events, restaurants and when I visit other schools. Please do not hesitate to come over to me to let me know how you are all doing and give me a hug, for I know when I see you, it will bring joy to my heart.
I could not thank the staff enough at CS for their dedication to all the students each and every day. They truly made coming to work so enjoyable as we celebrated the growth that occurred in each of our students - academically and beyond. Plus, what would we have done without our fantastic CS PTO? The joy they provided for all of our students, families and staff was outstanding.
I am confident that our children will continue to thrive and be successful, and you will continue to be the best parents as you stand for and with your family!
With much love and appreciation serving you all,
Principal Patti Sotero
PS – I will be posting on FB some fun memories we shared together this spring. With all the packing and moving… our picture postings got delayed.

Today marked the end of an era at Center Street Elementary, as we said goodbye not just to another school year, but to a place that has been at the heart of our community for generations. With laughter, tears, and heartfelt hugs, students and staff shared final memories in the hallways that have echoed with learning and love for decades. These walls have watched friendships grow, dreams take shape, and lives changed. Though the building may close its doors, the spirit of Center Street will live on in every person who walked through them. Thank you for the memories—we will carry them with us, always. 💛📚✨
