⚠️ 🛑 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 🛑 ⚠️
Good morning, everyone!
Yesterday was the extended registration and payment deadline for Girl Talk. At this time there are only 3 girls paid for and confirmed to attend. Unfortunately I am unable to offer this group with such a small commitment and will need to postpone the start date again or pause the group until further notice.
Please know that if I were able to offer this group at no cost, I would. However, beyond the generous donation of the conference room at The L, there are many other moving parts that require the registration fee (snacks, materials for arts and crafts, games, guest speakers, 30 hours of my time across 12 sessions, education provided during each session and more).
I strongly believe in the amazing possibilities of this group and the positive impact that it will have on the young girls in our community, so I will not give up on this!
Girl Talk WILL happen in the future! I truly am grateful for everyone’s support so far, sharing my posts, and getting the word out. I can’t thank you all enough and encourage you to please continue to follow this page for what’s to come!
To those of you who have already paid, I will be in touch to discuss refunds and/or alternative opportunities for your child.

Southern Tier GirlTalk is a BRAND NEW support and skill building group for girls age 9-12 where they learn how to love themselves from the inside out! There are many materials needed in order to help teach and reinforce these concepts through education, games, activities, crafts, etc.

My name is Samantha and I am the creator behind this incredible opportunity for young girls age 8-10 to learn to love themselves inside and out!

I am a local school-based social worker here in Chemung County with a passion and desire for setting children up for success by filling their Social-Emotional ‘toolbox’ with skills and strategies that will help them successfully navigate this journey called life - And that all begins with learning to love yourself.

What to except:
-There will be an education based piece during every group where your child will learn different concepts, skills & strategies for self-love that will be reinforced with various activities, games, arts&crafts, guest speakers & more
-There is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for bullying or any other unkind behavior that hurts someone else’s feelings or causes another group member to feel uncomfortable.
*Your child may be asked to permanently
terminate the group if concerns of this
type of behavior arise.
-Due to the delicacy of this group and the intention of learning to love themselves and build others up, if your child struggles to appropriately interact with their peers, please consider other resources in the community.
-Drop off is no earlier than 8:50am
-Please arrange for prompt pick up at 11:30 am, inside main entrance doors to the L
-Only those who are listed as a parent or an approved pick up person will be allowed to pick up your child. This is for safety measures.
-Snack will be provided during group. Please send your child with a lidded drink.
