Our JAG students spent some time today giving back to their school by helping set up for tonight’s volleyball game! From getting things ready to making sure everything was in place, our students showed that being part of JAG means being willing to step up and serve wherever you’re needed.

Community service isn’t always about big projects—it’s about seeing what needs to be done and saying, “I can help!” 👏

JAG Officer Campaign Season is officially underway!

Our JAG students are getting their campaigns together and preparing to run for officer positions!

They’re working on their campaign ideas, figuring out what they want to bring to JAG, and thinking about what it really means to be a leader—not just someone with a title, but someone who is willing to step up, serve others, and help move the team forward.

We’re excited to see these future leaders put themselves out there, use their voices, and show what they can bring to the JAG family!

Today in 7th period JAG, we learned that there’s a big difference between simply doing your job and being someone who helps move the whole team forward!

Students took part in a paper airplane assembly line. At first, everyone had one assigned job and was expected to stick to it. But once bottlenecks started slowing things down, we changed the challenge—students were encouraged to notice where help was needed and step in.

That shift demonstrated the difference between a compliant person saying, “That’s not my job,” and a high-value person saying, “I see a problem. How can I help?” 👏

We also used this activity to help students think about the kind of classmates and leaders we want representing JAG as our future JAG officers. Officers aren’t just the people with a title—they’re the people who step up, support others, solve problems, and help elevate the entire team.

✈️ The goal? Don’t just do your part. Look up, look around, and find a way to make the team better.

Last week in JAG, our students literally had to find their way—one square at a time!

Students worked together to figure out a pathway through our floor grid. Sounds simple, right? Except when the path didn’t go the way they expected, frustration started creeping in. 😅

And THAT became the real lesson.

We talked about how easy it is to get stuck in a negative mindset when something is frustrating:
❌ “I can’t do this.”
❌ “This is impossible.”
❌ “I’m just bad at this.”

But what happens when we change the way we approach the problem?

➡️ “Let me try a different way.”
➡️ “What can I learn from this?”
➡️ “I haven’t figured it out YET.”
➡️ “Let’s work together and try again.”

The grid wasn’t really about finding the right path—it was about learning that when life, school, or work throws a frustrating obstacle in our way, we have the power to change our mindset and choose how we respond.

Today’s JAG takeaway: You may not be able to control the obstacle, but you CAN control your attitude, your effort, and your next step. 💪🧠

Huge congratulations to our JAG students on becoming CPR certified! ❤️👏

These students took an important step toward being prepared to help others in an emergency while building valuable life and career skills. We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to making a difference in their community.

Thank you to Nick VanCleave from Barren County YMCA for training our students and getting them certified! Another big thanks to Beau Bruton for letting us use his classroom today!

Today we honor the hard work, leadership, growth, and determination of our amazing JAG seniors. Through challenges and successes, these students have shown what it means to stay committed to their goals and prepare for bright futures ahead.

From career readiness and leadership development to community service and teamwork, each senior has left a lasting impact on our JAG program. We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished and excited to see where life takes them next.

We couldn’t be more proud of our JAG students today! 🙌 Proud is such an understatement though. They hit it out of the park!

They showed up and showed out at the Reverse Job Fair hosted by Three Corners Employment Services. From the moment they walked in, our students represented themselves with confidence, professionalism, and determination.

They took the time to share their skills, goals, and ambitions with employers, proving that they are truly ready to take the next step toward their futures. Watching them advocate for themselves and make meaningful connections was incredible.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. These students continue to rise, and we’re so proud to be part of their journey. 💜

✈️ JAG Students Take Flight in the Paper Airplane Factory Challenge!

Our JAG students participated in the Paper Airplane Factory Challenge through Empowered today, where they stepped into the role of entrepreneurs and engineers for the day! Mr. Beauchamp and Davie even got in on the action today!

Students worked in teams to design, test, and improve their paper airplanes while managing a “factory” focused on productivity and profit. Through this hands-on activity, they practiced real-world skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making.

This challenge emphasizes concepts like innovation, risk-taking, and learning from failure—key skills that help prepare students for future careers. 

We loved seeing students collaborate, adapt, and push through challenges to improve their designs. The energy, creativity, and determination in the room were incredible!

👏 Great job to our JAG students for rising to the challenge and showing what it means to think like leaders and entrepreneurs!
