It’s with heavy hearts to share the news of our beloved Mrs. Jessica’s passing. She taught, loved, and helped care for our sweet Cdc children for many years. Even though she moved on to a new class this past year, her love continued for them. She made an impact on us all and will be greatly missed. Please keep her family in your prayers.

Jessica Jean Mahan, 47, passed away at her home in Walls, Mississippi on June 25, 2025. She was born on January 22, 1978 in Illinois.
With a distinguished career spanning 25 years, Jessica instructed at various schools in DeSoto County, where she left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students. She held a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Mississippi, a certification in Special Education, and a wealth of experience that equipped her to tackle the unique challenges of supporting children with special needs. Her dedication to this noble profession was evident in the way she went above and beyond to create a nurturing environment that fostered growth, inclusivity, and acceptance. Sadly, some of the children she worked with left us too soon, but her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the many hearts she inspired. Her remarkable journey is a testament to her selflessness, compassion, and commitment to making a difference in the world, one student at a time.
Visitation will be from 5 pm until a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 6 pm on July 3, 2025 at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home - 2470 Hwy 51 S - Hernando, Mississippi.
She is survived by her husband, Ricky Lee Mahan, her mother, Penny McIntosh, her father, Phillip McIntosh and his wife, Carol, her (4) daughters , Jordan Allen and her husband, Jesse, Brittany Johnson, Maddie Mitchell and her husband, Cody and Paula Mahan and her son, Spencer Johnson.
She also leaves behind her sister, Tonica Lumpkin and her husband, Keith, her (2) brothers, Ben McIntosh and his wife, Megen and Julian Hatchett and (6) grandchildren, Elaina Allen, Oakleigh Johnson, Rowan Allen, Waylon Mitchell, Theo Johnson and Lila Mitchell.
