March is rolling in with a whole new flavor glow-up! Get ready for our Sweet Heat Chorizo Empanada, a cinnamon, sugar, and cayenne pepper biscuit stuffed with spicy turkey chorizo and melty shredded cheese. Served with a tangy lime crema.

Available March 30 - April 2, 2026 at secondary campuses.

A nutritious breakfast couldn't be easier! Oats mixed with milk, yogurt, honey, and chia seeds are soaked overnight in the refrigerator, then topped with sweet strawberries and crunchy granola before serving. (Or chop and mix your berries in overnight for a twist.)

We are incredibly proud of our Horizon High School culinary team for earning 3rd place at the Culinary Star Competition in Dallas, TX on February 13. Their shrimp risotto stood out among strong competition and perfectly captured this year’s theme, A Taste of the Mediterranean.

Adding to the win, Ashley Torres was recognized for Best Knife Skills, highlighting the talent and dedication behind this team’s success. These students worked hard, showed up with confidenc and truly earned this recognition.

Horizon High School represented El Paso with excellence and we could not be more proud!

✨ Meet The Empresses ✨
These talented ladies from Horizon High School are heading to Dallas this Friday to represent El Paso at the Aramark Culinary Star Competition. They are the only team from El Paso competing and will be showcasing their shrimp risotto, inspired by this year’s theme, A Taste of the Mediterranean, as they compete for a scholarship.

Please join us in cheering on Ashley Torres, Priscilla Gonzales, and Mariana Martinez as they take their culinary skills to the big stage. 🍤🍚 Good luck ladies!

The Clint ISD Child Nutrition Program is excited to launch the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP), an elementary-only initiative designed to promote healthy eating habits among students.

The program will serve Pre-K through 5th grade students at the following elementary campuses:
Frank Macias Elementary
Carroll T. Welch Elementary
Montana Vista Elementary
Red Sands Elementary
W.D. Surratt Elementary

Students will receive fresh fruits and vegetables at no cost during the school day. Head Start is not included.

This week, FFVP will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday around 2:00 pm, with items delivered directly to classrooms.

This week’s featured items include:
Red bell peppers, jicama, watermelon radish, limes, and dekopon. 🍉🫜🍋‍🟩

We’re excited to support healthy choices and expose students to a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.
