Child Care Center Director

Miss Honey’s Learning Center is seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Child Care Center Director to lead our team and continue providing exceptional care and early education to children and families. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader who values teamwork, high-quality education, family relationships, and maintaining excellence in child care.
As Center Director, you will oversee the daily operations of the center, support and mentor staff, ensure compliance with Pennsylvania licensing regulations, and create a positive, nurturing environment where children, families, and employees thrive.
Responsibilities
Administrative Leadership
* Manage daily center operations and ensure efficient administrative processes.
* Attend leadership meetings and participate in center planning.
* Support fundraising initiatives and community events.
* Complete additional duties as assigned.
Center Management & Quality Care
* Ensure the highest quality of care for every child.
* Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
* Supervise curriculum implementation and review lesson plans for all classrooms.
* Maintain inviting, organized, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.
* Implement policies and procedures that promote:
* Safe arrival and departure procedures
* Positive behavior guidance
* Developmentally appropriate practices
* Assist with housekeeping duties when needed, including classrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, and general cleanliness.
* Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming facility.
Compliance & Licensing
* Ensure compliance with all Pennsylvania Department of Human Services regulations.
* Maintain appropriate staffing ratios.
* Keep preschool curriculum aligned with state standards and program goals.
* Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate licensing updates and policy changes.
* Ensure required staff training is completed and documented.
* Support Keystone STARS participation and quality improvement initiatives.
* Report suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with Pennsylvania law.
* Maintain accurate attendance and supervision of children at all times.
Staff Leadership & Development
* Onboard and train new employees.
* Conduct 90-day, 6-month, and annual employee evaluations.
* Mentor and coach staff to support professional growth.
* Coordinate ongoing professional development opportunities.
* Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture.
* Maintain employee confidentiality.
* Ensure the safety and supervision of children and staff throughout the day.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet Pennsylvania Child Care Center Director qualifications through one of the following:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services plus 1 year of experience working with children, OR
* Bachelor’s Degree with at least 30 credit hours in one of the above fields plus 2 years of experience, OR
* Associate’s Degree in one of the above fields plus 3 years of experience, OR
* Associate’s Degree with at least 30 credit hours in one of the above fields plus 4 years of experience.
Required Certifications & Clearances
* Pennsylvania Criminal History Clearance
* Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
* FBI Criminal History Clearance
* Mandated Reporter Training
* CPR Certification
* Physical examination completed within one year prior to employment
* TB test completed within three months prior to employment
(All clearances and certifications must remain current throughout employment.)
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
* Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the center for up to eight hours per day.
* Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
