🌟School Spotlight🌟: Simmons University
Simmons University is a private liberal arts institution located in the heart of Boston. Founded in 1899, this school prioritizes “professional preparation, intellectual exploration, and community orientation” for undergraduate women. US News has consistently ranked Simmons as one of the Best Value schools in the nation.
We spoke to Senior Hayley Around about her undergraduate experience at Simmons University.
“What I love most about Simmons is the environment and culture that students bring to the University. Every person here is very focused on academics and very passionate outside the classroom as well. This opens the door to career opportunities and internships because your classmates are out in the real world, excited to network and collaborate with you. On campus I have been involved in dance, student government, and admissions in addition to completing several internships during my time here. Simmons has such a great reputation in the Boston area for a reason! You are part of an exciting, cohesive community from the moment you step foot on this campus to long after graduation.”
Who should apply?
“Simmons is renowned for its nursing and Physical Therapy programs so if you are looking for something along those lines you should definitely consider it. Outside those specific fields, Simmons is great if you want to explore your academic passions through Boston-based internships. We also have a lot of accelerated programs that can save you time and money.”
What else should someone interested in Simmons know?
“We’re part of the “Colleges of Fenway” alongside Mass Art, Wentworth, Emmanuel, and a few more. This is a huge bonus because you can take classes at any of those universities and even add a major or minor from another institution. You get the experience of a small university with all the benefits of a large university. STEM and nursing students also benefit from partnerships with several Boston hospitals because of our location.
Also, Simmons awards financial aid in merit or grants/loans to 100% of students here so every student who comes here is considered for scholarships.”
