What an incredible week at the Kentucky FFA State Convention! We are so proud of our members for representing our chapter with excellence and bringing home numerous awards and recognitions.

🏆Congratulations to Addison Renshaw, State Agriscience Fair Winner in the Plant Systems Division 3 category! Addison will advance to compete at the National FFA Convention this fall.

Hailey Sutton also represented our chapter in the Agriscience Fair, competing in Animal Systems Division 5.

🏆 We are excited to celebrate our three State Champion Proficiency Award winners who will represent Kentucky at the National FFA Convention:
• Brant Cansler – Specialty Crop Production
• Rex Taggart – Agricultural Services
• Cameron Williams – Agricultural Mechanics Repair & Maintenance Entrepreneurship

👏 Congratulations to our members who were recognized as State Runner-Up Proficiency Award winners:

As we wrap up another great year for the CCHS FFA Chapter, we want to recognize the incredible accomplishments of our members that were celebrated during our annual banquet.

This year, our chapter awarded and recognized over 300 student accomplishments. From chapter involvement to regional and state-level achievements, our students have continued to show dedication, leadership, and hard work both inside and outside the classroom.

We are extremely proud of everything our members have accomplished this year and thankful for the support from our families, alumni, school administration, and community. Congratulations to all of our award recipients on an outstanding year!

This is your last chance to shop with us this season before we close for the year! Stop by this week and support our students while picking up beautiful plants, flowers, hanging baskets, vegetables, and more. We still have lots of great plants!

🪴 Greenhouse Hours This Week:
Monday: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Tuesday: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Wednesday: 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM (FINAL DAY!)

Mr. J’s Equine Science students recently took an incredible trip to Lexington, KY to dive deeper into the equine industry! 🐎
Students had the unique opportunity to visit Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, where they observed a live surgery and gained insight into advanced veterinary care. At Caliente Therapy, Jordan Berry introduced them to the world of equine rehabilitation and recovery techniques.
The group also explored Midway University’s Equine Facility, Katie Rich Farms, the iconic Keeneland Race Track, the Three Chimneys Stallion Complex, and the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture. Each stop offered valuable, hands-on learning experiences and a closer look at the many career paths within the horse industry.
A huge thank you to all the professionals who took the time to share their knowledge and passion with our students. This was a trip to remember!

Mr. J’s Small Animal Technology classes had an amazing opportunity to partner with Ana from The Groomery to learn all about grooming and bathing dogs! 🐾✂️
Students got hands-on experience and even put their new skills to the test with Angus and Dutton, who were great sports throughout the process. 🐶🛁

Here is the CCHS greenhouse hours for the week of May 4th-9th.

Please note we will not be able to open in the mornings due to KSA testing. However, we will be open later on Friday and Saturday to provide plenty of time to get Mother’s Day gifts!
