On Monday, June 8, the second annual HEF Golf Scramble welcomed golfers to Oak Ridge Country Club for a (somewhat rainy) day of golfing for a good cause. Thanks to the generosity of these golfers, we raised $33,000 for our Spark Grants that kickstart teachers' classroom projects in Hopkins Public Schools. What a fun time out on the farm today! As part of our Great Gatherings fundraiser series, the good folks at TC Farm hosted an event with Auntie Annie's Fields, LLC, one of their egg suppliers. We put on shoe covers to protect against contamination (think: bird flu) and set off for a meet n' greets with chickens, pigs, and of course, the farmers who tend them – followed by a lip-smacking lunch of local organic brats, salads, chips and ice cream from Hopkins' own A to Z Creamery. 😋 Plus we learned a bunch about free-range chicken farming. Big thanks to the whole TC Farm crew and Auntie Annie's Fields for a wonderful time. (Pretty sure we'll all be dreaming about brats and eggs tonight!)
