Zykirria Lewis received the 555th Parachute Infantry Association "Triple Nickle" JROTC Award today. The 555th was the FIRST all-black airborne unit in the US Army's history. What's better??? To receive this award with her grandfather who was an Airborne Infantryman in the 82nd Airborne, following in the footsteps of those very men. EVEN BETTER!?!? It was her 18th birthday today! Happy Birthday Zy!
Zykirria will no doubt go on to do great things in the Army, where she plans to become an Army Nurse or Medical Service Corps Officer. But don't be surprised if she decides to go to Airborne School while she's in ROTC at VSU. Can't wait to see Grandpa pinning on those silver Airborne wings!

OCP uniforms have started to arrive! Imagine, being a leader in JROTC next year - getting to wear the same (new) camo pattern that 1SG and LTC wear? With custom HHS JROTC patches?!? Those arrived too... (see below)
Who wants to be a "leader" in JROTC? If you haven't already, please fill out the form on Google Classroom to state your intentions...
