Have you ever heard someone mention a “neuropsych evaluation” and wondered what it actually means? 🤔

A neuropsychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that looks at how a child learns, thinks, communicates, processes information, manages emotions, and functions in everyday life. For some families, it can provide valuable insight into their child’s strengths, challenges, and support needs.

These evaluations can be especially helpful when:

✔️ A child is struggling despite current supports
✔️ Families are looking for a deeper understanding of learning or behavioral challenges
✔️ There are questions about diagnoses, services, or accommodations
✔️ Parents and schools need additional information to guide educational planning

Understanding your options as a parent/caregiver can make navigating the special education process a little less overwhelming.

💙 Did You Know? 💙

When your child has a disability, it can sometimes feel like the school system is the only place to turn for support. BUT there may be additional resources available that many families don’t know about.

Programs such as SSI, MassHealth CommonHealth, DDS Family Support Services, respite care, flexible funding, and ABLE accounts may help provide support for eligible children and families.

Every family’s journey is different, and navigating services can feel overwhelming. Sometimes simply knowing what resources exist is the first step toward finding the support your family needs.

Take a few minutes to explore these programs. You may discover opportunities, services, or supports that could make a meaningful difference for your child and your family.
