We wanted to send an email to invite everyone for a fun Meet & Greet on, Friday, August 7, from 4:00–5:00 p.m. at the Turnagain Kayak & Coffeehouse gazebo.
Come help us give a warm Hope School welcome to our new teacher and principal! It's a great chance to meet them and catch up before the new school year begins!
We'll have pizza to enjoy ( thank you Turnagain Kayak and coffee house) so just bring yourselves and your smiles! We hope you'll stop by, say hello, and help us kick off an exciting new school year together.

Please join us in welcoming Amanda Adams as the new Principal of Hope School for the 2026–2027 school year!

Amanda brings more than 25 years of experience in education and a passion for creating learning environments where every student can thrive. Throughout her career, she has been recognized as an innovative instructional leader who believes in building strong relationships, empowering educators, and ensuring every child has opportunities to succeed.

Most recently serving as the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District's Professional Development Coordinator, Amanda has worked alongside teachers and principals across our district to strengthen instruction, foster student engagement, and support meaningful learning experiences. Her leadership has also extended beyond Alaska through national recognition and international educational partnerships, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and educational excellence.

Amanda believes that the strongest schools are built through meaningful partnerships with students, families, staff, and the community. As she joins the Hope School family, she is excited to become an active member of the Hope community, celebrate its unique traditions, and work together to provide an exceptional educational experience for every student.

Congratulations and Welcome to Hope School, Megan Koster!

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District is excited to welcome Megan Koster as the new Elementary Teacher at Hope School for the 2026-2027 school year!

Megan is a proud graduate of Seward High School and began her teaching career at Pearl Creek Elementary School in Fairbanks. Now, she is returning to her Southcentral Alaska roots with a passion for giving back to the communities that helped shape her journey. Megan is especially excited about the opportunity to teach in a small school where she can build strong relationships, support every student’s individual needs, and make a meaningful impact on both students and the Hope community.

Her teaching approach emphasizes:
Positive relationships and strong family partnerships
Consistent routines and clear expectations
Positive reinforcement that motivates and builds confidence
Instruction that meets the needs of all learners
A safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
High expectations paired with individualized support

Drawing from her student teaching experiences and two successful years in the classroom, Megan has developed a thoughtful and reflective approach to teaching. She recognizes that every student learns differently and is dedicated to using a variety of instructional strategies to help all students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Hope School hosted our 3 School Field Day this year. Students enjoyed coming together with Cooper Landing School and Moose Pass School to enjoy games, food, and celebrate completing another amazingly successful year of learning. What an excellent annual event. Special thanks to all who helped with events, cooks, coordinators, and community members.
