Hello Pre-K families! My name is Anisha Bettwieser and I am the new Pre-k teacher for the AM/PM class. Ms. Fritschie (full day) and I have been working hard to prepare for your students. We will have an open house on Tuesday the 24th. The first day of school will be Wednesday the 25th. AM/PM classes, check your email for information on the Open House. See you on Tuesday!

PM Field Day! My favorite moment was the entire group marching and chanting in (totally unprompted) unison: “DUNK MR. D” on the way to the dunk tank! And he got dunked, 3x!

What a successful art show the preschoolers hosted today! If you took any photos this afternoon, I’d love for you to share them on this post or page. (I forgot to bring my phone outside this afternoon, and somehow neglected to take a picture of the guests of honor: the tadpoles!)

The buzzword of today is "collaborate" (as in, stop....& listen). The AM and PM classes created their own drawing with pastels on a piece of black paper with a pre-drawn white circle at the center. I explained that we were going work together to make a new piece of art by cutting each of their pictures into four pieces and reassembling them, mixing their work in with their friends'. We talked about how this is similar to a puzzle or a quilt; they haven't seen the bulletin board yet, but I think it came out beautifully!

Today I brought in a mysterious, small aquarium and showed the kids its contents. At circle time, we observed it and drew either what we saw, or (if we knew what the tank’s inhabitant was) what we thought might happen next. It will remain in the classroom for close inspection for the weeks to come....Stay tuned! 🪱 🐜 🐸 🍂
