Afterschool programs are great for busy parents. They provide a structured, safe, and supervised place to be for your children afterschool. They allow your child to learn, have fun, and build friendships with their peers.

The physical activity provided in an afterschool program is good for your child on multiple levels. Not only will this encourage your child to relief stress and let off some steam, but it will also encourage them to be more active overall and thus healthier.

Of course, there are times when you have to be serious, but don’t forget children love it when adults joke around! Laugh and play pretend with your kids. It helps them to think creatively, make friends, and deal with stress.

For all after school care programs, labor is far and away the largest expense. The labor intensive nature of the work does not benefit from the economies of scale the same way that other industries do.

Parents who participated in a study concerning the effects of an afterschool program for their child said that it definitely helped them balance work and family life. In fact, 60 percent of them said that they missed less work and almost 60 percent of them also said it helped them keep their job.

If you know that you will not be home regularly to greet your child when he or she arrives from school, you should consider enrolling him or her in an afte-rschool program. Even if it is just one day out of the week, your child will benefit greatly from the experience.

In the U.S., more than eight million children are enrolled in before or afterschool care for at least three hours a day. A quality afterschool care program supports children and their families.
