💙📚 BOOKED & FINER | A PUZ AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT 📚💙
For National Literacy Month, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. – Psi Upsilon Zeta Chapter proudly celebrates Soror Sonya DeGraffenried, Author and Poet, whose writing is rooted in faith, truth, healing, and finding the courage to use your voice.
A published poet and author from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Soror DeGraffenried began her literary journey with Inside Out, a deeply personal poetic expression of her transformation from a voiceless child into a woman unafraid to share her truth. Through her poetry, she gives words to the emotions many of us experience but sometimes struggle to express.
This month’s featured book, Caution to Love: Handle With Care, explores the many layers of love: vulnerability, heartbreak, disappointment, healing, growth, and ultimately, rediscovering yourself. Inspired by her own experiences, Soror DeGraffenried transformed feelings that often go unspoken into poetry that reminds readers they are not alone.
Her message is one worth remembering:
“Love may leave its caution signs, but healing teaches us how to move forward.”
For Soror DeGraffenried, writing is more than putting words on a page. It is how she heals, reflects, connects, and encourages others. Her journey from silence to storytelling fuels her desire to inspire others to find their voices, embrace their stories, honor their healing journeys, and never forget their worth.
And for her Finer Read? She chooses the Bible, believing every woman can find wisdom, encouragement, strength, and guidance within its pages while being reminded of her God-given identity, purpose, value, and worth.
This National Literacy Month, we celebrate the power of words to help us find our voices, tell our stories, and heal from the inside out.
