Do you have a child taking the ACT this fall or winter who needs help preparing for the math section? I'm planning to do some Zoom sessions leading up to the ACT dates and would love to know who is interested. Today is the last day to register for the “Getting Ready” courses. Don’t miss out!
Here’s the info:
If you feel like your student missed important concepts during last school year or has just forgotten everything over the summer 😜, this will be a good way to get them ready for their upcoming math class this year!
Time committment: About 6 hours (3 one hour Zoom sessions plus about an hour of prep work for each session)
Courses offered: Getting Ready for Pre-Algebra (or 8th grade math), Getting Ready for Algebra I, Getting Ready for Geometry, Getting Ready for Algebra II
Cost: $60 per student
Dates: Each course will meet on 3 of the following dates: July 27, July 29, August 1, August 2, August 3, August 12.
# of students per course: Minimum 4 and Maximum 10
Deadline to register: July 24

Whether we like it or not, the school year is quickly approaching! For the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be offering online courses to get your children ready for math this year. Hi! 👋 I wanted to introduce myself for those of you who may not know me!
My name is Wendi Vick and I am a math teacher who lives in Hoover, AL. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Faulkner University and a Masters degree from the University of South Alabama, both in Secondary Education - Math. I have been certified to teach 6th-12th grade math in the state of Alabama for the past 19 years.
I started my teaching career at Prattville High School, moved to Pensacola, FL and taught at West Florida High School, and then moved to northeast Alabama, where I taught at Jacksonville High School. I had such a wonderful experience in all of those schools. I loved going to teach every day.
Then came the babies. 4 of them in 7 years. All boys. 💙 As much as I loved teaching, my heart was pulling me to be at home with my babies. So, when my oldest boys were 3 and 2, I resigned and began my life as a stay-at-home mom.
During the past 10 years while I’ve been home with my boys, I have been blessed to continue my career as a math teacher. I have written curriculum for the AL state department of education and have taught students all over the state of Alabama through an online program called ACCESS. I have taught a math course to college students in the Philippines, one year in person and one year via Zoom. I have also helped numerous friends and family by tutoring them in their math courses.
And now I hope to help more students gain confidence and succeed in math! I will be available for private tutoring in person and via Zoom and will occasionally offer group sessions to help students who need to grow their math skills in specific areas.
