After the Read family sold the business I started working for Smith & Edwards in Ogden. I set up their leather shop and started building saddles and pack equipment for outfitters. s in my spare time under the name of Saddlery by Randy Hansen and selling them through the store. After working 25 years for Smith & Edwards, I semi-retired and started building saddles full-time. In 2002, I changed the name of my business to Hansen Saddlery. With a larger shop I can now offer my saddles to you directly. With over 30 years of saddle making, I think I can offer you the best value in a saddle. I build all types of saddles but specialize in Wades, Ranch Ropers, Team and Calf Ropers. I have started building barrel saddles because my nieces needed saddles that would stand up to the hard everyday use they require.
