You can see the grader filling in the old irrigation ditch that separated the north and south parts of the field. There is going to be huge earthworks - roof berms (mounds) created to channel and collect rainwater used to irrigate the field. In the meantime, it will be a nicely groomed dirt field. It’s the perfect amount of softness for footlaunch and firmness for trike.

Flew the drone around the Ranch after a little bit of progress clearing some of launch area. AT THE END OF THE VIDEO, I put some pics of an island of private property between the boundary of the Rio Grande National Forest and the Great Sand Dunes NP&P that I am researching for a camp/XC landing spot.

We’ll be flying to the Great Sand Dune (legally- the area north of the national park will be the landing area, San Luis Lakes wildlife preserve, the Rio Grande in Alamosa, excursions to the Gator Farm, the hot springs resort and more!
