The 2021 OSAA State XC Championships were held yesterday, November 6th. The weather was kind to us to enjoy watching both the Hood River Valley Boys and Girls compete under sunny with a slight breeze. The first race had us cheering on the women, led by an 8th place finish by Phoebe Woods and the team taking home the 4th place trophy. The women have finished on the podium every year since 2016.
The men's race saw Elliot Hawley, 11th overall, lead his team to a 5th place finish. Both teams improved throughout the season to peak at the right time! I'll add more photos later this week but wanted to share a few of both Phoebe and Elliot and the podium finish by the women! Well done Hood River!

The Intermountain Conference Cross Country Championships were held on October 27, 2021 at the Golf Course at Birch Creek in Pendleton, OR. Phoebe Woods took home her first conference championship and continued consecutive streak of champions from HRV to six! The women also brought home the sixth consecutive championship too! The JV women also scored a perfect 15 points to their victory.

The HRV men had another amazing competition with The Dalles. The Riverhawks squeaked out a championship by a single point over Hood River Valley. This has been a great rivalry to watch as this isn’t the first time a single point decided who the victors were. 2018 and, 2019 come to recent memory with each school taking home bragging rights. Elliot Hawley came away for a hard earned third place finish to lead his team to a second place finish.
The icing on the cake for both HRV teams is they will be competing at the 2021 OSAA State Championships at Lane Comminity College on November 6, 2021! Come on down an support these fantastic student athletes!
