In your own words, state why you are continuing your education and why you are applying for a local scholarship(s). Please be brief, yet professional.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”. When I look back now I see that I still can not answer that question with confidence. This has allowed me to keep an open mind, always looking for new possibilities. Being one thing for the rest of my career does not suit me. I want the ability to change, grow, and innovate.
Entrepreneurship appeals to me because it gives me that freedom, it can take me anywhere I want to go without limiting me to one path for the rest of my life. This aspect of entrepreneurship is very important to me because it constantly has me thinking about the future and the many different things I will accomplish with my education.
I believe that I am a great candidate for local scholarships because I am attending college out of state and I am an active member in the Twin Valley community. Out-of-state tuition for the college I am planning to attend is more than double what a student would pay for in-state tuition. This makes attending the school and paying for the education much more difficult. The idea of student debt has become much more real in my head as I prepare to face high amounts of debt in the future to pay for out-of-state tuition. A scholarship of any amount would assist greatly in my college education and make the process of earning a degree much easier. After college I hope to impact and benefit as many people as I can with a post-secondary education
