At Friends Academy, we believe children thrive when they have time to learn, play, explore, and grow.

✔️ 4-day school week
✔️ One full hour for lunch and outdoor play—whether it’s in the sunshine or under the shade of a tree
✔️ 45 minutes of PE every morning to start the day active and energized
✔️ A strong history of graduates going on to rank in the Top 10% of their classes at local schools, including Hondo Independent School District, D’Hanis Independent School District, and surrounding districts
✔️ Many of our students have graduted from technical school and/or are thriving in the workforce
✔️ A strong focus on social and emotional wellness and growth

Perhaps most surprising of all: our students spend their time learning—not practicing for standardized tests. Friends Academy does not focus on test prep or routine standardized testing, yet our students consistently transition successfully to public schools and perform well on the STAAR.

Because when children develop strong thinking skills, curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning, the results speak for themselves.

Wow! Thank you Mr. Ripps for taking your clasroom on the road to wrap up Texas history with a visit to Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan and Mission Concepcion. There is no better way to spend your school day! These kids don’t know how lucky they are!
