I had the pleasure of flying with a couple of young Air Force pilots this weekend. Luke and Xavier are just out of UPT (undergraduate pilot training, flying T-6s) and came out to learn how to be real pilots and get their tailwheel endorsements. They both picked it up really quick.
I just want to know: who had a better solo? Luke with a nice 3-point, or Xavier with a butter wheel landing?? Drop your vote in the comments. 👇

Thanks everyone that joined us at our BBQ last weekend! As always, it was a great time with a lot of good food and fun flying! We can't thank Brian Papke enough for the amazing shots! Also, a shout out to Bristell by BRM AERO for bringing out a couple of airplanes for us to demo. They even let us take them out for a twilight formation photoshoot!
Thanks Ed for being the photoship!
I know evening BBQs aren't everyones bag. We'll be planning a fly-in breakfast soon.
Those Bristells look good, think we should add one to our flight line??
WE’RE HIRING: STICK-AND-RUDDER CFII
Flying Knuckleheads is expanding the flight line out of Hondo (KHDO). We are looking for an instructor who actually likes to fly and wants true variety in their logbook.
The Mission: You won't be flying the exact same pattern all day. One morning you’ll be taking a zero-time student up for their first Private lesson or shooting IFR approaches with a Commercial candidate. That afternoon, you’ll be teaching high-drag energy management, active rudder control, and STOL transitions to an experimental builder.
The Ideal Fit: A CFII with solid tailwheel experience. You need to be just as comfortable teaching instrument procedures as you are dragging tires in the dirt.
The Fleet: Zenith CH750 STOL, SkyReach BushCat, and an IFR Beechcraft Musketeer.
We aren't a pilot mill. We teach real flying across the entire spectrum.
If you want to get out of the 172 rut and teach actual stick-and-rudder aviation, shoot us a DM or send your resume to [email protected].
Silly Name. Serious Training.
Just doing Zenith things @

THE CHICKEN IS LEGAL. 🐔💨
The Feds finally signed off—we officially have our LODA! That means we are now your factory-recognized transition training center for the Zenith Aircraft!
Come get some real-world STOL time in the "Lazer Chicken." It’s a CH750 powered by a UL350iS (absolute beast) based out of Hondo (KHDO). We’ve got dirt, grass, and pavement waiting for you.
We’ve been ferrying Zeniths and test-flying Phase 1s for years. Now, we can finally put you in the left seat of our plane to get you ready for yours.
Big thanks to Zenith Aircraft for the support!
Ready to fly? Get in touch and we're happy to help!

Think about this picture when your CFI tries to tell you that you had a "hard landing." 🤣
On January 15, 2026, an Amazon Air Boeing 767-300F inbound from Spokane experienced a hard landing during touchdown at San Bernardino, California. The aircraft sustained visible fuselage damage, later shared in photos online by multiple sources.
