Students in our Educational Career Exploration class at Hominy High School brought together their Confidence Quotient, Immutable Me, and goal setting work to create vision boards for the school year and beyond.

Each board included a meaningful quote or affirmation, personal values, three goals for the school year, and images, words, or symbols representing the student’s future. Students also chose an Ingenious Influencer who inspires them and explained why that person will encourage them as they work toward their goals.

These students have super bright futures!

OCIC Director of Teaching & Learning Jacqui Gover-Robb will be one of the presenters, sharing What Does Tribal Sovereignty Look Like Since the 1970s? and exploring connections among sovereignty, community, language, cultural preservation, and Oklahoma academic standards.

📚 **Professional Learning Opportunity for Educators**

OCIC is pleased to share an upcoming professional learning opportunity, **Exploring Tribal Sovereignty through Constitutional History**, hosted by the National Constitution Center and the Oklahoma History Center Museum.

This full-day workshop will give educators an opportunity to explore the constitutional and judicial history of tribal sovereignty, examine primary sources and historical documents, and make connections to Oklahoma academic standards.

OCIC’s Director of Teaching & Learning, **Jacqui Gover-Robb**, will be one of the presenters, sharing *What Does Tribal Sovereignty Look Like Since the 1970s?* Her session will explore how tribal sovereignty is reflected through community, language, and cultural preservation and help educators connect standards to what sovereignty looks like in Oklahoma communities today.

Certification tests can be a real hurdle for Oklahoma educators — and waiting until a certification deadline is approaching can make an already stressful process even harder.

Oklahoma Watch recently spoke with OCIC's Jacqui Gover-Robb and Sherrie Redding about the challenges educators face when preparing for certification exams.

As we shared in the article, test preparation isn't a "magic bullet." But the right support can help candidates understand what to expect, identify where they need to focus, develop a study plan, and approach the test with better strategies and greater confidence.

That's the purpose behind OCIC's **Passing the Test** support for Oklahoma educators.

One thing we've learned from working with educators preparing for certification exams: **don't wait until your deadline is looming to ask for help.**

OCIC is working on scheduling our next Passing the Test session. In the meantime, educators who need certification test support are encouraged to reach out. We'll connect you with an OCIC coach who can help you identify resources, develop a plan, and provide support as you prepare.

25 districts. One room. Endless mathematical thinking.

What happens when educators from across Oklahoma come together to rethink mathematics? Powerful conversations, meaningful collaboration, and classrooms transformed by curiosity.

Our Summer Teacher Math Camp brought together educators from 25 school districts, organizations, and partners to explore joyful mathematics through rich tasks, mathematical discourse, hands-on learning, and classroom-ready strategies. Together, we learned with Annie Fetter, engaged in interactive math stations, and explored sessions on fractions, proportional reasoning, number sense, geometry, and thinking routines.

Here's what participants had to say:

💬 "I love the open-ended thinking and talking ideas on how to let all kids feel successful in class."

💬 "Sense-making activities bring joy and belonging."
