As we welcome the fall season, we are also reminiscing on all of the fun we had this summer! In May, Kate McDaniel and Anna Grant Kahlstorf went on incredible summer adventures abroad with sweet stories to share!
Hi! My name is Kate and I’m a senior studying Elementary Education. This summer, I had the opportunity to take my roommate, Susanna, home with me to Cairo, Egypt! We had a lot of fun visiting various tourist sites, like the pyramids and Grand Egyptian Muesum, and hanging out with my family! I loved showing her around the city and being able to share my everyday life with someone from Samford.

Studying abroad was the most wonderful way to start summer!! Two and a half weeks in London was the perfect amount of time and the Daniel House was beautiful and very convenient! While abroad, I studied Arts in Society and got to explore the city with friends! My favorite parts were seeing all the sights, including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Notting Hill, and Borough Market, and I enjoyed seeing Phantom of the Opera! In my free time I loved touring Wimbledon and the Crown Jewels, having tea at Harrods, lots of shopping, and watching The Devil Wears Prada Musical! After the term ended I visited Paris and Switzerland with family and had the best time! We visited the Eiffel Tower, Palace of Versailles, the Louvre, and did a river cruise on the Seine! In Switzerland we visited Interlaken, Lake Lucerne, and Zurich, and I was in constant awe of the Lord’s creation! I highly recommend going abroad one summer in college and am so thankful I had the opportunity to travel!!
