Starting July 1st, a new Florida law limits student wireless communication device use during the instructional school day.
This applies to all public schools - and yes, it applies to all MDCPS and Miami MacArthur Educational Center as well.

Miami-Dade County Public School’s Parent Academy and the Department of Mental Health Services are pleased to present a livestream event for families addressing children's stress and anxiety as we approach the testing season and celebrate May as Mental Health Awareness Month.
Join the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Jose L. Dotres, and expert guest, Dr. Jeremy Pettit, Executive Director at the Florida International University’s Center for Children and Families.
Parents and caregivers of school-aged children are encouraged to attend this informative session on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 6:30 PM.

✨️The holiday season, while often a time of joy and togetherness, can also bring increased stress and anxiety. Disrupted routines can lead to feelings of uncertainty.
✨️To help our students and families maintain their mental well-being during the holiday break, here are some helpful tips:
✨️Encourage open communication about feelings and concerns. Active listening and empathy can provide reassurance and understanding.
✨️Focusing on quality time and meaningful connections rather than material possessions can help alleviate stress.
✨️Maintaining regular sleep, healthy eating, and relaxation techniques like exercise, meditation, or spending time in nature can promote overall well-being. I
✨️f feelings of sadness, anxiety, or stress become overwhelming, encouraging individuals to seek support from a therapist or counselor can be beneficial.

One Voice for a Better Community, provided a drug and alcohol eduation interactive presentation. Their educators teach students about the dangers of va**ng and marajuana. Students were able to simulate reaction times under the influence. Thank you for coming in and sharing such needed information with our students.
