Sprouts- it is said that a single sprout has more nutrition in it then 4 pounds of cooked food. Personally I love making my own sprouts. I never did like sprouts growing up but that’s because I got them from the store- and they were already kinda slimy. Once I started experimenting making my own, they tasted so fresh and delicious and once seeds are sprouted, they last a good long while. I love putting on salads, sandwiches, garnish for soups, and sometime just grab a big pinch for a healthy snack

5. Mullein- this plant is wonderful, it’s leaves are super soft, I think it could possibly be used as emergency toilet paper! First year it does just a small little round of leaves, there was a biennial the second year that round of these is much bigger and then it shoots this huge stock out that’s like 8 feet high and blooms over 100 little tiny yellow flowers!

Plantain- Not from the banana family and it grows everywhere! I love to use it fresh in salads or soups or just a nice little thing to nibble on. I’ve known people to chew plantain and stick it in their gums to help with their teeth, I’ve personally used it as well poultice to help with the stings.

3. Cayenne Infusion- cayenne infusions have become one of my favorite things. I used to be so sensitive to spice, and a little bit would send me over the top. I started doing cold water cayenne infusions at 1/16 of a teaspoon of cayenne in a shot glass and followed it with an 8 oz cup of water. Now I’m up to a whole teaspoon, and I can handle so many spicy foods. It’s such a joy always do wonderful things to eat. Cayenne has been used for so many different things in the past. My three top favorite things is that it’s extremely high on vitamin C, equalizes the blood flow, and is a direct food for the heart.

2. Hydration- our bodies are 2/3 water, it’s important to have proper hydration for the health of her kidneys, and for the whole body. The body becomes dehydrated it can take 2 to 4 days to regain proper hydration. Some results of dehydration is headache, dizziness, sleeplessness, and possibly low blood pressure.

Time to make sure you have what you need this winter-

Raspberry leaf tea is an incredible resource. It’s so high and so many vitamins and minerals that are completely usable by the body. My school touted it as being amazing for people who are sick with the flu to get better, and those people around sick people to avoid getting sick. So perhaps it would be good to start drinking it on a regular basis to just help build that immunity.

I find that sometimes it’s good to just make it a regular drink… It can keep in the fridge really well, so also it’s good to make it fun and maybe have a little tea party and what not. My mom has mixed it with berry tea’s because the raspberry leaf itself is very bland, and it definitely gets my kids drinking it more. Especially when they have the tea pot and a little cup and they can just practice that pouring and stuff and it’s just fun.

And Add honey as needed… The more they enjoy the flavor the more likely they are to drink. I’d highly recommend getting the tea balls and buying a pound of raspberries leaves to get through now. In the summer you can collect your own raspberry leaves. Because local leaves are definitely a lot healthier for our bodies, and raspberries grow so well here.
It’s important to know that this is one of the few plants that that I’ve seen that you can use it completely fresh or completely dry… You don’t wanna use wilted leaves as it releases a toxin into the leaves while it’s dry. Otherwise it’s incredible completely fresh or completely dry

Lemon verbena, Aloysia citriodora
This beautiful and fragrant plant was historically found in Chile and Peru, but can be grown indoors year round if given proper lighting. Lemon verbena has strong antioxidant properties. It can be used to aid in digestion, promote sleep, and calm the nerves.1 A study was done on male and female athletes regarding workout recovery. One half the group was given Lemon verbena and the other half was given a placebo. For those who took Lemon verbena, their muscles had complete recovery after 48 hours and experienced reduced damage, while those with the placebo were still recovering after the 48 hours and had increased damage to tissue.2 Whether a tea to drink just before bed or right after a workout, Lemon verbena can be a great support to your nervous and muscular systems!

The Vital Circuitry
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“All of us accumulate static electricity in the body, which can be released by removing the shoes and socks and shuffling the feet through the lawn or grass ten or fifteen minutes a day. ...In the process of giving life to the physical body, the hair acts as an antennae and pulls the electrical energy from the atmosphere. As this electrical force comes in through the top of the head, it distributes so many amps and/or ohms to each organ, cells, gland, etc.” The electricity can pass from our head through our body and exit out through our feet onto natural sources such as earth. When we wear rubber soled shoes, nylon socks, we can not get rid of the electricity. Find some time to get outside and walk barefoot on the grass or dirt for 10-15 minutes. Invite a friend or family member to do it with you. Try it and see the difference it makes for your mental state!
