Sodapop is doing a little bit better!! She turned a corner and has started going in the right direction again!

Her bill has jumped by about 1k over the past few days. Between going entirely on IV nutrition, getting scoped (no ulcers or anything else odd or concerning!), and getting another ultrasound and some enemas. She finally started pooping a bit on her own too!!

ANY shares or donations would be a huge help!!!

Please keep Sodapop in mind. She is in emergency surgery as we speak at Cornell University. I will be posting a Go Fund Me that .tracy is helping me with. ( Thank you Shannon!)

The outlook is gaurded. She may have an underlying condition that lead to this. If she makes it through surgery, the recovery process will be a process.

I have every bit of faith that she will make it, even if the vets are unsure. She is the strongest little horse I know. She will get through this. She is at one of the best vets in the world.

As is, the bill will be at least 10,000. If you wish to donate, please reach out. I will be posting photos to confirm what we've put down already. With what money I had, My mom had, and my other sister has, we put down 5,500. I will be paying back the 5,000 my mom and sister have put down.

Remember; if you cannot easily recall your animal, never let them off leash. Even in enclosed spaces. When you are in a new area, or new stimuli is around, re-leash and work on basics to see how engaged your animal is. And always use the 9 out of 10 rule; 9 times out of ten when you recall your animal, give them a treat, praise, then send them off again. And remember; no matter how perfect an animal seems, there will always be something that can risk their recall. Always stay vigilant, engaged with your animal, and aware of you and your animals surroundings and limits.

Basic off leash training time! Due to future tasking and general safety like stand stays out of the way during appointments or while doing things that might be riskey, off leash training is highly important in Sodapops case. She needs to be fully trustworthy to be safely out of the way, and not dependent on a leash to listen. Practicing basic things like this while off leash helps cement the idea of listening all the time, and helps build trust. It is also protected under law, as between certain tasks and my disabilities, leashes are not an option 100% of the time, nor is holding a leash always an option.

I am working on teaching her stand stays at the moment, and while it's hard, she's been making progress! She very much wants to stay with me, which is good, but makes it difficult to teach her to stay in one spot without me lol

Sodapop being a mountain goat, then throwing a mini tantrum when I didn't let her eat leafs lol

Clippy cloppies! Here is little miss Sodapop learning to lead me home. She knows the way, but leading is new to her. Our thing we need to work on is leading calmly! And not trying to race home for a snack lol

Crazy hair day!

How are folks holding up? Things have been rough lately so I admittedly haven't been very active. Hoping to get on here more often. Expect more posts today!

I'm FINALLY back to work after hurting my neck, then downing a bag of grapes. While I loved the forbidden juicy 'candy', dad was not very happy and pretty stressed out for quite awhile.

I am a little bit rusty after nearly two months of not really doing any work outside of home; but after a bit of practice I settled back into working. I even ignored the person who shoved their hand in my face while dad tried to block them, I didn't even give them a curtesy lick while dad explained not to do that while I am working.

Overall dad is super proud of me, and is thrilled that I am finally back to my normal happy healthy self. :)

A wonderful video on why service dog (and horse) laws must remain vague, and why there should never be certifications.

Today we started learning to interupt my leg bouncing! Something I do during and before episodes that makes them worse. This is after just a few hours of practicing every 15 minnuets or so.

Photos from our day out! Sodapop at CountryMax, getting weighed on the scale there, and then at Dollar General doing her thang standing next to me, then doing a simple 'touch'. I was shocked by how respectful and accepting people were at the store.
