An Adventure for Rockhounds
Take a journey back through time with everyone's favorite geologist Taz Tally (aka The Rock Doc) as he leads you down Diamond Creek Trail and along the shoreline, revealing the forces of nature that have shaped Kachemak Bay. Join Taz on Friday, September 18 at 5:30 pm for a rock cycle lecture, and put your knowledge to use on the rockhounding adventure on Saturday, September 19 from 10:30 am to 4 pm. Designing and Planting a Perennial Agroecosystem workshop with Shawn Jackinsky, Sundays, 6/14 and 6/21, 1- 3 pm, $20 each.

Yesterday we learned about choosing plants for microclimates, biennial and triennial plants vs different kinds of perennials, some propagation techniques, and how to plant and care for an apple tree. Today we will talk about soil, making decisions about planting out the food garden at the college, and more. Feel free to drop in. We are located at the corner of E. Pioneer & Heath St. The garden is at the back of the parking lot.
