Homer Artists Headed to the State Level!

The NYSATA sponsored New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) Exhibit is an annual art exhibit that brings attention to your students' work with members of local school boards at the School Board Association's annual convention. Participants from elementary and secondary schools across the state are featured in this prestigious show.

Students chosen from Homer Central include:
-First graders Connor C., and Emmett W.
-Second grader Hannah C.
-Sixth grader Sandra R.
-Seventh graders Caroline C. and Jocelyn M.
-Eighth graders Bristol B. and Lia A.
-Tenth graders Lexie M. and Genevieve K.
-Eleventh grader Will D

School board members attending the NYSSBA Convention will be able to view student artwork during the convention October 22-24, 2026 in Buffalo, NY. Attendees will continue to have access to the virtual art exhibit until December 31, 2026.

Our Link Crew leaders welcomed incoming freshmen to Homer High School recently with energy, team-building games, and small-group discussions to help ease the high school transition.

Upperclassmen shared their best advice for navigating the halls, balancing schoolwork, and getting involved in the HHS community.

Homer Central School District is proud to announce a partnership with Cortland Enlarged City School District to combine our Girls Field Hockey programs for the upcoming fall athletic season!

Following approval by the Homer Board of Education, this collaboration ensures that young female athletes in our local community continue to have the opportunity to participate, play, and compete in field hockey.

"Combining programs allows us to preserve and grow the sport of field hockey in our surrounding communities," Homer Athletic Director Todd Lisi said. "By bringing these two student-athlete communities together, we are ensuring our young women continue to have fantastic athletic opportunities to compete, build lifelong skills, and enjoy playing the game they love."

Sports Physicals at Homer High School

The district will offer free sports physicals at Homer High School on the following dates:

August 11: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
August 19: 1:00–4:00 p.m.
August 26: 1:00–4:00 p.m.

If your child’s physical is not up to date, please have them attend one of these sessions. Students planning to participate in a junior varsity or varsity sport should have their physical completed as soon as possible.

The physicals are free, and no appointment is necessary. Students may arrive at the high school anytime during the scheduled hours.

If your child is a high school student and you have questions regarding their sports physical, please contact [email protected].

Homer Trap Team Competes at Nationals!

A massive shout-out to our outstanding Homer Trap Team student-athletes who traveled to Mason, Michigan recently to compete against the absolute best shooters in the country at the National Championship!

Karson K., Levi S., Jake M., Kaden J., and Luke B. all proudly represented Homer on the national stage. The team competed fiercely in the five-man team division, and every single athlete finished in the top 500 individual shooters in the nation!
