With the start of this school year, we had several big kids transition off into kindergarten. This means we can welcome some new friends! I currently have two slots open for little ones three years old and up. I have an exciting new curriculum that I recently purchased. In October we continued learning the letters that make up our names as well as the letters D E and F. We worked with the number 2, the shape oval, and the colors orange and black. We learned about fire safety, dinosaurs, how to be feelings detectives with our social emotional curriculum, and much more.

In September we started up all right new curriculum and welcomed some new friends to our group. Our Ffocus for that month was the letters ABC, the number one, the shape circle, and the color is red and green. We discussed themes like family, police officers as community helpers, and started a new social emotional curriculum titled Strong Start.

Year in review month 2: during this month we focused on the letters C M A and T, the numbers 1 and 2, the shape square, and the color red. We discussed the themes: me and my family, community helpers, and camping out.

Year in review: we started off the year with an alphabet overview, focusing on the numbers one through five, the color blue, the shape circle, and the themes of friendship, sharing means caring, where I live, and sports.

During the month of May at Little Stars we focused on the shape diamond, the letters V, W, and X, the color purple, and the number 9. We talked about farmers as community helpers, gardening, ladybugs, the butterfly life-cycle, and how we can take care of the environment by recycling. We also enjoyed plenty of outdoor time with the nice weather.

For the month of April at Little Star we focused on the color blue, the letters T and U, the number 8, and the shape triangle. We talked about rhymes, insects and bugs, and under the sea animals. We did activities like make stuffed sea animals, puzzles with bugs and insects, search for upside-down cards on our calendar, gathered things that are blue, and made groups of eight to see what that amount looks like. We also enjoyed more outdoor time as the weather warmed up.

During the month of February we focused on the letters m n and O, the number 6, the shape rectangle, and the color white. We talked about snow and ice as well as Polar animals. We also learned on how we can keep a healthy smile by eating healthy foods and brushing your teeth regularly. Our community helpers for that month were doctors.

Last month we welcome to new family with two new friends. We all had fun learning and playing together. Our focus for that month was the color yellow, shape star, letters j k and l, and the numbers 4 and 5.

We have been busy learning about healthy foods, good hygiene habits, and being polite by remembering to say please and thank you. Our book this month was Froggy Eats Out which guided us in talking about good table manners and how to behave when at a restaurant. We even had a pretend restaurant where we practiced using our manners and learned some basics about money.
