Our homeschool group is heading on an outta-this-world journey to the U.S. Air Force Academy Planetarium and the Space Foundation for a day of cosmic discovery and hands-on learning.

Inklings students have been studying the Black Death in this year’s Problem-Based History and today was probably the most fun lesson yet! Students are now at the point of the plague arriving in their town so they simulated the rate of infection with a game of drawing clear gem stone for healthy or a green gem stones for infected from either the Basket of Life of the Cauldron of Death! They then had to roll the dice if they drew a green gem stone to see if they survived the plague- only a roll of snake eyes guaranteed survival! Game play is the best way to learn- even better when it’s with friends!

So proud of our Inklings Academy students! 🎶✨

They did an outstanding job working cooperatively and listening so well during Christmas concert rehearsal, which made for a smooth and successful practice. They truly rose to the high expectations set for them—and earned their promised pizza party! 🍕🎄

A huge shoutout and THANK YOU to My Country Cupboards for making the pizzas for today’s celebration. The kids absolutely loved them! We are especially grateful for the many gluten-free and dairy-free options so all of our dietary-restricted kiddos could enjoy the fun too.

Way to go, Inklings students—you continue to impress us! 👏

At the conclusion of our Christmas concert, in collecting candles from the choir, I thanked everyone and ended the evening before our benediction prayer was given, which my husband was asked to give and he prepared too nice of a prayer to not be shared so I’m sharing it here. I’m sorry I didn’t hear everyone try to tell me I was forgetting something before I concluded the program. Thank you, Dylon for your beautiful prayer over our homeschool program:

Bendiction Prayer

Our most gracious Heavenly Father, thank you for watching over us all and guiding these wonderful kids and adults through a successful evening. God we thank you for this music program at the homeschool academy and the teachers that have put in so much time to make it the blessing that it is. We ask that you continue to guide this program and help all the kids love for music and playing instruments grow into the future. My God thank you so much for this co-op and community that has grown from it. We thank you for the support of everyone who is a part of it and the commitment that so many have for all of these children. We pray that this coop and everyone in it continues to have only the best interest and intention for our kids. I pray God that you give all the parents here the courage and guidance they need to continue doing what is best for their own families in the upbringing and education of their own children. God we thank you for this congregation that has been so gracious in allowing us to use this facility. God we thank you for your son and the sacrifice that he made willingly for all that we might have the hope of eternal everlasting life in your kingdom. God please watch over all of us as we depart from this place and protect everyone as they travel home.

Our students sure do love their PE teacher, Miss Jane! The students start their class with right brain/left brain exercises and presidential fitness routines and the second half is spent doing a game. Today, students played a variation of 4 square mixed with keepy uppy and volleyball! It’s hard to pick a favorite part of the day at co-op when the whole day is just so much fun but PE is definitely a top contender for all the kid’s favorite!

Man are we blessed here at Inklings or what with an extreme amount of talent in those teaching our homeschool students?! Our drama teacher, Miss Maria, has written her very own play for the student’s spring play and the kids got to do their first read through today with auditions happening next week! Here’s a little sneak peak! We cannot wait to see this play!
