We’ve been talking pumpkins & for this activity we brought out our pumpkin stamps.

Each little stamp had a surprise fall print inside. We saw pumkin pies 🥧, a fox 🦊, leafs🍁, and a pumpkin.

Our task was to fill the leaf 🍂 up by stamping away. This activity helped up strengthen a number of abilities like hand ✋ eye 👁️ coordination, fine motor skills, pre-writing ✍️ skills, cognitive 🧠 development, and language 🗣️development

SHAKE 🫨 & TUMBLE

Here we used a shoe box for our art craft. We placed the paper inside, dropped our paint 🎨 in along with acorns & began to shake shake shake!

It was mess free & children learned how to use both their big & small muscles by simplify picking up the acorns and shaking the box back and forth.

They experienced cause & effect while boxing the box slowly or rapidly. They were able to observe 👀 how the paper went from white to colorful.

Dig 🪏 the acorn in a hole 🕳️

If you’ve been here long enough you know that we take seeds and roots VERY seriously & do not put them to waist 😅 we went out and planted our rooted acorns in a perfect place for each of us. Now here’s the thing, 🤔 I might regret this next year with the amount we planted 🌱🤣 BUT this is part of our lecture.

This activity helped them learn about life cycle 🔁 and enhanced their observation skills!

Hector had a good idea and it was to bring one planter acorn into our classroom to watch it grow overtime.

POKE & LOOP ➰ Just like our Acorn roots!

We’ve observed acorns over the past 2 weeks. We did a small science 🧫 experiment & placed the acorns inside a zip lock bag for 4 days & collected Data 📊

Day 1: Acorns looked normal
Day 2: The bag began to Sweat 😅
Day 3: The Acorns cracked
Day 4: ALL the acorns had roots!!

To understand roots and how they sprout we used an acorn with holes 🕳️ & gave yellow thread 🪡 to pretend each hole sprouted a root! Look at all those concentrating faces!

Count & send down the tunnel

We brought the Montessori into our classroom by using outdoor acorns and napkin rolls. WOW 😮 we had such a blast counting and seeing the acorns drop. We were able to learn what cause and effect means & every time we heard the acorns drop we also heard cheers 🎉 in our classroom 👏🏼

GRIP GRIP DROP 🫳

Our task here was to was to grip 🤏 the acorn, bring it over to the egg carton, & drop it in.

This simple assignment helped strengthened our coordination skills, problem‑solving skills, and early math concept all at once. The best part? They had so much fun 🤩 all while taking some skills home 💪
