Wow, what an exciting 24 hours. When I quit teaching, I wanted to stay involved in education in our community so I ran for the board of education. It has been an eye-opening experience on so many levels. The way I "thought" things were ran and done, was so different than they actually are. I did not intend to run for a 2nd term but when the time arrived to decide, I felt my heart and soul being directed to run again. The parents and patrons that have reached out to me with concerns, questions or assistance, in my time on the board, you are a big part of my “why”. I want to thank those that think I have a done a job worthy of a 2nd term and cast their vote for me. I have, and will continue to openly represent the students, teachers, staff, parents, and individuals in USD #336. I have said many times in the past year that public education as we know it is changing rapidly and will look extremely different in the next few years. As a community and board of education, we are going to have be open to changes while still staying true to our values and beliefs in public education. Thank you again to those who encouraged me, wrote letters on my behalf, sent messages/texts and voted for me. Your faith and trust means so much. Now, it’s time to get back to work for USD #336.
