🌱 Rooted and Built Up in Christ! 🌱

What a wonderful way to begin a new school year!

This morning, Pastor Heimsoth, our Transitional Interim Pastor, led our students and staff in our first chapel of the year. We are thankful to have him walking alongside our church and school during this season of transition and especially grateful that he could help us begin the year focused on what matters most—Jesus!

Our theme verse for the 2026–2027 school year is Colossians 2:6–7:

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

Throughout this year, we will be reminding our students that everything we do—learning, growing, serving, loving our neighbors, and facing challenges—begins with being rooted in Christ and built up in Him. ❤️

We pray that God richly blesses our students, families, teachers, staff, and congregation as we begin another year together!

We're excited to share that our SonShine Early Childhood Center is taking an exciting step toward expanding opportunities for families in our community!

SonShine is in the process of becoming a Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) / PreK for All partner for the 2026–2027 school year. If approved, eligible families will have access to FREE, high-quality preschool while experiencing the loving, nurturing environment that has been a hallmark of SonShine for so many years.

As the early childhood ministry of Holt Lutheran School, this opportunity would allow even more children to begin their educational journey in a place where they are known, loved, and encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

We still have some plants left from our sale. If you are planting your garden this weekend, stop by the Kirkpatrick's and get tomato, pepper and strawberry plants! The quality of these plants is better than what you'll find at the box stores.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Micole Holton on being named the Oxford Public School Shared Time Mentor of the Year! 🎉

This honor is a true reflection of the dedication, compassion, and commitment she shows to her students every single day. Mrs. Mikki continually goes above and beyond to encourage, support, and inspire those around her, helping students grow both academically and personally.

Her passion for education and willingness to invest extra time and care into the lives of her students does not go unnoticed. We are incredibly blessed to have her as part of our Holt Lutheran family, and this recognition is so very well deserved!

If you missed out on our plant sale yesterday, you're in luck. The remaining plants are at the Kirkpatrick's farm in Mason.

They are located on Eifert Rd just north of the roundabout on Columbia Rd. You may purchase plants from dawn until dusk. Cash and Tithe.ly payments are accepted.
