Tonight the Backpacks will be packed, the special “first day” outfits will be picked out, their supplies are ready… and somehow, another first day of school is already here.
As parents, these moments can feel so bittersweet. We are so proud to watch our children grow, learn and become more independent.. but no matter how tall they get or how grown up they seem, a part of us will always look at them and see our little babies.
Tonight, there may be excitement, nervous butterflies, happy anticipation… and maybe a few extra hugs before bed. That’s okay! A new school year is a big moment for our kids! and for us, too.
But tomorrow, as we watch them walk through those doors we can do so knowing they are entering a place filled with people who genuinely care about them.
At Sand Lake Elementary, our children are surrounded by incredible teachers, support staff, administrators, and school family members who will encourage them, challenge them, celebrate them, comfort them, and help them grow every step of the way.
They are in the very best hands.
So tonight, hug them a little tighter, take that extra picture, listen to their excitement, calm their worries, and soak in this moment, because these years have a way of passing much faster than we ever expect.
Tomorrow begins a brand-new year filled with friendships, learning, laughter, memories, and so many opportunities to grow.
