🏆 Celebrating Our Outstanding 5th Grade Award Recipients! 🏆

As we close out another wonderful school year, we are proud to recognize several exceptional 5th grade students who have earned some of our school's highest honors. These awards celebrate students who embody the values, character, and spirit that make our school community so special.

⚔️ The Viking Award: Abram Carlson
The Viking Award recognizes a well-rounded student who represents our school's mission, vision, and values. This student demonstrates strong academic achievement, positive leadership, active involvement in school activities, and, above all, outstanding character.

⭐ The Carol L. Bareford Award: Musik Lee
This award honors a student who exemplifies good citizenship through kindness, respect, responsibility, and caring for others. The recipient has grown in confidence, believes in themselves, and approaches challenges with an inspiring "I Can Do It!" attitude.

🌟 The Character Counts Award: Luca Swetkovich and Stella Vircks
Presented to two students, this award recognizes exemplary character in the areas of Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Caring, Fairness, and Citizenship. These students consistently demonstrate that character is not simply what we think—it's what we do.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients! Your hard work, leadership, kindness, and positive example have made a lasting impact on our school community. We are incredibly proud of you and look forward to all the great things you will accomplish in the future!

We enjoyed our end of the year assembly today, complete with a recorder performance, fifth grade awards, Minute To Win It Games, Kindergarten students performing "Movin' On Up To First Grade", and celebrating retirees!

Tomorrow is the last day of school! It is an early release day. If you pick your child up after school, please be prompt.

Earlier in May, Viking 3rd graders Paxton W., Eleanor P., Percy D., Ryland W., Adalyn B., Emree S., Olivia H., Xavier Y., and Eleanor R. traveled to the Holmen Boys and Girls Club to participate in a space-themed LEGOpalooza, inspired by NASA's Project Artemis and put on by the Mississippi Valley Gifted and Talented Network. These young engineers were tasked with building a lunar base camp and keeping astronauts safe on the moon through different building challenges. These challenges included building a docking station, solar arrays, and living modules. Students did a great job collaborating, problem solving, and using their creativity to tackle every challenge. A huge thank you to the high school volunteers and parents who shared their time and talents with us.

Just a reminder, all items left in the Lost and Found after this week will be donated. If you recognize any of these items, encourage your child to stop down and pick up their things. Also, feel free to stop in and take a look, just make sure to check in with the office first. Thank you!

These outstanding students were selected for consistently demonstrating the important character traits of honesty and integrity. They show what it means to do the right thing, be trustworthy, and treat others with respect — even when no one is watching. We are so proud of the positive example they set for our school community each day!

We had a fantastic afternoon at our Viking Elementary Field Day yesterday! ☀️🎉 Students had an absolute blast enjoying fun activities like face painting, sponge tag, tug-o-war, sack races, and even a dunk tank! There were smiles, laughter, and lots of great memories made throughout the event.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Baranowski for all of her hard work planning this amazing event, and thank you to all of the staff members and volunteers who helped run each station and make the day so special for our students. We appreciate everyone who helped make this annual tradition a success!
