We provide educational adventure activities and outdoor experiences to the School District of Holmen Physical Education Students and other School District of Holmen groups. The primary focus of the program is on adventure education utilizing the adventure model that includes name games, ice breakers, communication, problem solving, trust, low and high challenge courses, climbing wall, and outdoor
pursuits such as mountain biking and rock climbing to create a meaningful experience that is enjoyable for all participants. A challenge course is a system of cables, poles, wires, and ropes at heights varying from 1 to 40 feet off the ground that are constructed to form a series of challenges. Individuals and groups negotiate through the high challenges while tied into climbing ropes, wearing helmets, harnesses, and other technical gear. Outdoor pursuits are enjoyable leisure time activities pursued in the outdoors for the purpose of recreation, education, enjoyment, self-realization, and the intrinsic value of the experience itself. The programs consist of activities that focus on creating a positive group atmosphere while working through communication, problem solving, and low and high challenges. The facilitators also lead discussions that assist groups in reflecting upon their experiences to help relate the activities to real life. Activities are intended to be fun and exciting and designed to meet the needs and objects of any group regardless of the group’s age, physical limitations, and ability level.
